Further to Bret Schroeders comments above. Diamondback may well be owned by Raleigh America now but do let let yourself be fooled, as I was, into thinking the bike is made in the USA! It is clearly marked on the box, "Made in China". I am British and have lived in the US now for 4 months, is it possible to find any mass manufactured consumer goods that are not made in China? From clothes to household goods to bikes, everything seems to be made in china, ever wondered why the US has financial problems? Look no further! As a side note, the UK is going down the same path, god forbid!
Getting off my soap box now, the bike appears to be well made and packed. All the parts were there and with a minimum of hand tools, easy to assemble. My daughter who is a leggy 6yr old finds it comfortable and loves the style and colours. As she has only had the bike since xmas I can say nothing about the durability, if we experience any problems I will update this review.

Our daughter wanted a beach cruiser bike for her 9th birthday, We live on the beach, so the local beach shops had some VERY nice beach cruisers but were in the $300+ range ... a little too high for us - plus, she is only 9! I found this one on Amazon, after looking at the target and toys r us websites (and other discount bike websites). I was a little leary buying a bike over the internet, but the price was right so we took a chance. It came in 3 days w/ standard shipping. It was in one big box. The tires, seat and handlebars had to be assembled.
Our daughter is average size to a little shorter than avewage, and the 20 inch bike is the PERFECT size. The bike seems to be of good quality and sturdy. The paint is a pale yellow with pretty flower decals (pretty but still "cool") . The tires are what I like most, they are white walled with a bright pink rim - assembled this bike looks better than the picture. The seat has some pink, white and yellow polka dots on it. All in all very stylish and definitely what a 9-11 year old girl would want. My husband, who is very handy, complained a little about the lack of good directions in putting it together (it comes "mostly" assembled, as heretofore mentioned). While there was a manual, the directions for assembly were not detailed. It took about 40 minutes to assemble completely, so I would just caution the buyer to have someone handy put it together or take it a bike shop - I say that because my DH cursed a few times during assembly.
Thus far, the bike seems to be of good quality for a reasonable price.

My daughter loves this bike. She just fits into it; she is almost 7 (1st grade), and learned to ride without training wheels on a smaller bike a few months ago. She easily jumped on this much larger bike and was cruising away. The frame style makes it easy to get on/off the large frame. The bike is very sturdy and appears to provide a comfortable ride. She just loves it!

Being a bike snob I researched many bikes of this style and decided on the Miz Della Cruz by Diamond Back for my little girl. Her 16" was a Diamond Back and we were very happy with it. Also being a BMX racer back in the day, and a friend of the Diamond Back Team Manager Sandy Finkelman, I have a warm spot in my heart for the Daimond Back name. DB is one of the only companies that make reasonable priced bikes that has not been acquired by Pacific (Dural), the company that ruined GT and Mongoose. Diamond Back is now owned by Raleigh America which employs Americans! Raleigh is one of the oldest UK bike companies making quality bikes. For the money this is a quality bike and a great value. The yellow is a pearl color and more beautiful in person. I highly recommend this bicycle.
